EN 50262

STANDARDS FOR INDUSTRIAL GLANDS BS EN 50262 and BS 6121

A new European standard for Metric Cable Glands, EN 50262, was published in September 1998. As a result,the previous BS 6121 series of British Standards for Mechanical Cable Glands was withdrawn, because it contained conflicting requirements. EN 50262 was published in the UK as BS EN 50262 in March 1999.

BS EN 50262:1999 includes a National Annex covering the use of non-Metric entry threads.

The new editions of BS 6121 part 1 (Armour glands) and part 5 (Code of Practice) were published in 2005.
