Cadmium Plating

Having established its environmental policy, Peppers intends to gain accreditation to BS EN ISO 14001:1996, which is similar to the ISO 9000 standards, but concerns Environmental Management Systems.

As part of this policy, Peppers will not carry out any processes which are harmful to the environment. It is our intention, in time, to ensure that our suppliers do not carry out any harmful processes on our account.

One of the processes which is potentially very damaging to the environment is cadmium plating. In the same way that countries intend to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by the use of financial and fiscal controls, we are taking steps to reduce the use of cadmium by no longer offering this type of finish.

We regret the need for this action, but we are sure you will agree with the sentiments and policy behind it.
